The Gingerbread Boy Uptown

Genre: "Fractured" Fairy Tales.

Character Education Connection: Respect.

At first, everyone in Tyrone's neighborhood is in awe of a scrumptious, dancing, rapping Gingerbread Boy cookie-until they get to know him.

Vocabulary in Action:

Write all three vocabulary words on one index card: 

• dusted
• scruptious
• scurried

Gather in a circle and pass the card around clockwise while singing a round of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."  When you get to "Life is but a dream," the student holding the card on the word "dream" must narrate a short story using all three words.  At the end of the story, start the game again.  If the same person gets the card, hand it to the person on his or her right.
